positive thursday

Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your week and are getting ready for the weekend! Oh, and back to school... ugh, I'm so not ready yet, 21 days left. Yesterday I checked out my first two books with my new library card, in a way I feel like I'm setting my self up for failure because I know that I am not going to be able to read two novels before school starts, but I like to keep my options open (: today I wanted to share with you this poster I found via this new Facebook page that I found called Positivity, so far I really like it! I also wanted to share with you a past post that I am really loving right now, maybe it's because I really need it: My Purpose. I hope you all have an awesome Thrusday! Don't forget to enter the giveaway going on HERE.

positive Thursday, a little scripture I love and other posters

I love Pinterest because I love Positive Posters! They bring brightness to my day and they really lift me up! This past week I was pinning and I found this lovely one from Nichelle's Pinterest

1 Peter 3:3-4

It's so true, inner beauty is truly what counts. We shouldn't be obsessed with the way we look or the clothes we wear because our inner beauty truly makes us who we are.
Here are some more posters I have recently pinned:

positive thursday

top: ross, chambray/jeans: f21, sandals: target, bracelet: nordstrom.

Lately I have found my self stalking bloggers who have the BEST clothes. Yes, I know they have the best clothes because they say they get their clothes at J.Crew, Anthropology and many other fancy stores. Now, when I see these clothes I ooohhh and awww at them and in a way it makes me feel bad about my self. I exit out of the page and begin to look for bloggers 'my size', you know bloggers I feel comfortable around because they, like me, they don't shop at J.Crew or Anthropology. (:

I'm not condemning these bloggers who have the opportunity to buy those clothes, in fact I applaud them for being so successful in life. But I've been thinking, my ipod has been on shuffle and the song "He's A Hero" By SHeDaisy has been on quite often, it's a great song, and it really puts things in perspective.

he's a hero by SHeDAISY on Grooveshark

"You don't have a lot, he'd always say, but thank the Lord you have it all."

It's so true, when we look at the things that we DO have we feel so grateful! I am grateful for the things I do have because I know there is someone out there who doesn't have it as good as I do.

positive thursday: attitude is everything

Good morning friends! How was your Wednesday!? Who else is glad that it is already Thursday morning?! I know I am! This week was a pretty good week! I'm keeping up with my running! I can almost run a mile without taking a break, people... this is a pretty big accomplishment for me seeing as I haven't ran a mile, on the side walk... ellipticals not included, in over  five years! I'd say a 5 day training period is pretty darn good!

Is is just me or when you were younger did your mom always say "attitude is everything!"? My mom did, I remember specific experiences where she would say that and I would just sit back roll my eyes and say that exact line in a naggy voice as to mimic her. Let me just say this now... sorry mom! You were right. Attitude IS everything!

Have you ever noticed that when you have a bad attitude everything seems to go wrong? You blame it on your luck or something that has to do with your status in life. The last thing we want to do is blame ourselves. The fact is our attitudes change out outlook and the way we feel. Attitude truly makes us who we are.

Think about it, SMILE. Right now, DO IT! Now is there someone in the room with you?! Smile at them, if you don't have someone in the same room with you go find someone and smile at them! Seriously DO IT!! What did they do? Maybe they thought you were crazy, but more than likely they smiled back!! A positive attitude, like a smile, is contagious! It really is! It also makes you a happier person, it makes the impossible become so possible!

I dare you to be positive this week! You can do it!

This week I'm remembering the beach! I cannot wait to go back to this lovely sight!
What are you remembering this week, better yet what are you going to be positive about this week?!

positive thursday someone has it worse than me

Do you ever think about people?
This seems like an obviously silly question. But, seriously..
Do you ever think about people?
Like what their story is?
Who they are, what there life goals are,
how they got to be who they are today?
I've thought about these things a lot lately.
It's really amazing to think about how many people there are in the world and how many we come in contact with.
And think about all these people, think about their lives and the things they have done to get to right where they are.

I guess this just get me thinking back to my purpose post and remembering that we all have a purpose.
It also gets me thinking about how we all have trials and tests.
Some people have it so much harder than others.
While some people have a great life with minor issues.
It's hard to believe that we aren't the only ones going through trials that have stumbled in our path.
I read a quote a while back that said:
There is always someone who has it worse off than you.
Sometimes it's hard to believe.
There are so many things in life that get us down, make us sad and make us feel like we are the only ones in the world that are suffering. But remember, there is always someone who has it worse off than you, be thankful.

positive thursday

This week I have tried REALLY hard to stay positive and smile. And of course I've noticed that it makes a huge difference in my day. The best part might be getting that smile back from the person you smiled out! You should try it!!

Obviously there are times in life when we literally cannot smile, we just can't seem to get the muscles in our face to produce something happy. I know... we have all had those days and they are the pits! The days when we know Satan has a great hold on our hearts, when he knows just what will get us boiling upset. I know that if we are constantly thinking about positive things, believing in our selves, and turning our hearts toward the right, we will be happy. We will be able to accomplish the goals we have for ourselves. The quote below is great and I wish everyone would just believe it:

I challenge you to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! And to know that there is something inside of you that is 'greater than any obstacle". I know you  can do it and so do you!

I also wanted to share this awesome music video. Have you ever listened to the words to 'Firework'? I love it!!

much needed positivity

Do you have days where you just feel like you are worthless, that you have wasted your life away, that you should have chosen to be someone else? That you are a waste of time and effort and that you are just plain stupid?

Well, I'm here to tell you that you are none of those things! And that you are the exact opposite!
Your life is a gift that you were given and you choose to do with it what you may. The choices we make in life determine who we are and who we can become. I choose to be positive and to turn away from the the evil choices of the world. I choose to hold my head high and remember who I really am.

There are so many things in life that get us down and make us feel bad about our selves (being involved with social websites doesn't help haha). If anything we feel that 'the grass is greener on the other side' and that we want that grass to be on our side, with all its lushness and softness! (: The truth is, no-one wants to share there faults, how fun would that be if we knew they weren't perfect? ...

But because I know that my life has a purpose and that I have purpose I know that I cannot compare myself to people around me. As long as I know that I truly am on the right path, that I am following Heavenly Father, I know that I will get where I need to be. I know we all can be helping hands and that we all have a purpose here! We just need to remember that we do!!

You were sent here for this time and for this hour.

Silent Sunday

So, it's been a busy week for me.
Work, Work, Work,
School, School, School,
Volunteer,
Doctors,
ASU is down so I "have time" to
Crochet,
(I really didn't because I still should have been doing my school work!)

When does life stop being so busy so I can just take time and smell the flowers?
(note to everyone I'm allergic to flowers!)

Well, lets hope for a better week!
A less stressful,
more laughing,
happy week!
And a Happy Sunday!
Here are the words that will be filling my mind this week:

A Positive Beginning

I am the kind of person who loves dreaming.
I love dreaming about what my future holds.
Where I might be in the next year.
How much I would accomplish
Whose life would I touch or inspire

Sometimes I look at others and see the things they have
And compare them to the things I don't have.
I think about the things they get to do
And compare them to the things I don't get to do.

I know this isn't the way to think, live or act.
Yesterday I had the great opportunity to listen to an Apostle of God.
I felt the Spirit so strong and knew I was meant to hear what President Uchtdorf was saying.

The part that touched me the most was when he said:

As a child, when I would look at the little forget-me-nots, I sometimes felt a little like that flower—small and very insignificant. I wondered if I would be forgotten by my family or by my Heavenly Father.
Years later, I can look back on that young boy with tenderness and compassion. And I do know now I was never forgotten.
And I know something else. As an Apostle of our Master, Jesus Christ, I proclaim with all the certainty and conviction of my heart and soul—neither are you!
You are not forgotten.
Sisters, wherever you are, whatever the circumstances may be, you are not forgotten. No matter how dark your days may seem, no matter how insignificant you may feel, no matter how overshadowed you think you may be, your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you. In fact, He loves you, with an infinite love.
—President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I am so very grateful to belong to this church and to be able to listen to a prophet's voice. These men truly are called of God.
If you would like to read more from President Uchtdorf and/or read about what the other speakers taught click here.

EVERYONE needs positivity in their life!
And I am no exception.
We all come across trials and feel like we can't make it though.
We face these trials everyday.
We need support from each other to know we aren't alone and to know we can do it!
I want to keep a positive attitude about life.
I found all these sayings and posters that have helped me!
I hope they reach out to you on your bad days!
