Book Club {The Giver}

Lets start something new today!
I know sometimes when you think of a book club you think of those silly ladies on movies who have nothing else to do but read a book all day.
Believe you me I do not have time on my hands like they do and I'm sure neither do you!
But lets try it!
Last week I read "The Giver" by Lowis Lowery.
It's one of those books that you read in Elementary School...
But it still is a GREAT book!
Sometimes I wonder why they haven't made a movie out of it.
{actually just looked it up and The Giver is coming out in 2013! Super cool and something to look forward to!}

Summary:
"Jonas's world is perfect. Everything is under control. There is no war or fear or pain. there are no choices. Every person is assigned a role in the community.
When Jonas turns twelve he is singled out to receive special training from The Giver. The Giver alone holds the memories of the true pain and pleasure of life. Now it's time for Jonas to receive the truth. There is no turning back."

"The Giver" has won many awards including 1994's Newbery Medol.

If you haven't read "The Giver" I really recommend it and it is an EASY READ!

--------------------------------------------------------

This week I am reading "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards. I facebooked and asked all my friends if they had any recommendations, I got A LOT! But, they didn't have any of them at Borders (going out of business) and I just decided to go around and read the summaries and I was pretty interested in this one! So wish me luck and if you want to read along PLEASE |DO! As of Thursday night this book was $7.50 at Borders!  Don't worry I probably wont finish reading this book for a while... it's a little bit longer.

Good luck! And let me know what you think of "The Giver" or "the Memory Keeper's Daughter".
