The Arizona Haboob

What is a haboob?!
Let me start by telling you a story.
The hubs and I were at his families house taking some cute pictures for the Etsy shop and just chatting it up when we saw the time and decided we should head on home.
We open the door and see a wall or dust!
Not kidding a wall!
It was the oddest thing!
We started heading home and had the air on because it was a little humid outside
When all of a sudden the air in the car gets really thick,
We turn the corner and typically can see the traffic lights half a mile down and we couldn't even see them!
It was pretty unreal!
I have never been through any kind of fog or dust storm so I was a noOB.

A haboob is a type of intense sandstorm commonly observed in arid regions throughout the world. they have been observed in the Sahara desert as well as across the Arabian Peninsula, throughout Kuwait, and in the most arid regions of Iraq.

The haboob we had in Arizona was said to be at least 1,000 feet high! It was pretty intense!

My poor car the next morning!

So glad it wasn't a tornado or twister. Very glad we live in Arizona! Did anyone else experience the Haboob?!

Yes! And I blogged about it too! Wasn't it the craziest thing?! I'm from Iowa, where we have tornadoes, and while dust storms are scary and dangerous, I prefer them to tornadoes!
