what did you do on your day off work?

Since yesterday was a holiday lots of Americans had work off. I wasn't one of them but I do get Friday off! Yay for a three day weekend!
Yesterday in good ol' AZ we got some rain! Finally! I think the last time we had that much rain was back in November! So you can bet that we had some really great weather after those rain clouds passed by. Brand and I went to the park and just hung out we wanted to swing but apparently other kids decided to be stupid on them and the city took them down. Now there are only baby swings and these hips of mine DEFINITELY don't fit in those swings!  And of course for lunch we had hot dogs!!  Of course RIGHT?! We started a new tradition this year, before the fireworks went off Brand read The Declaration of Independence. I think it's a great new tradition!

Don't mind me, I'll still try and swing with my red icee in hand!

Pretty cool what you can do with sparklers!!
Hope you had an awesome 4th!!

How do you eat your Ramen?!

First, Make sure I have my comfy's on!
Have my crochet supplies by my side
(here you see my scissors, crochet hook case, yarn label, yarn, and box)
Boil water in microwave for 2 minutes 30 seconds
Take out of microwave and put the Ramen in the hot water.
Let sit for a minute.
Add the flavoring.
(I prefer beef)
Let sit for a minute.
Add half a tablespoon full of Mayo
(Best Foods preferably, there really isn't any other GOOD kind anyways).
(Oh and don't think I'm crazy till you try it!)
Tuck in your napkin.
Have a seat.
And EAT!

You'll Never Regret It

Okay, remember when I said I had to take a picture of a picture so I could show you my Paris pictures?!
Well I found one of the memory cards!
Paris has to be the most beautiful city I have ever been to.
Cafe's are on every corner,
TONS of shopping
Lots of sight seeing
The metro is something to experience,
Numerous amounts of people from all walks of life.
Someday I WILL go back to Paris!

Harry Potter 7 Part 2

That's right, for the past 3 Harry Potter movies me, my husband, and my brothers have gone to the midnight showing!
Yes it is sweet!
Let me just say that I am not a freak like some of the people who go and maybe I like to go to the midnight showing to see the freaks, it is a plus!
Last night was definitely no exception!
There were so many people in costume I kind of felt left out!
Let me give you an update on the move....it was great! If you read the book there are things that were left out (of course) and somethings were different but I loved it and I wan't to go see it again!

A lot of these pictures of of the hubs with the characters, He went out to take pictures while I held down the fort!

Ron

Professor Trelawney

 George and Fred

Gandalf, not Dumbledore

Voldemort and a Death Eater

Great seats, great fun, great movie!
Highly recommended!

Did you see Harry Potter Part 2?! Are you going to?!

The Arizona Haboob

What is a haboob?!
Let me start by telling you a story.
The hubs and I were at his families house taking some cute pictures for the Etsy shop and just chatting it up when we saw the time and decided we should head on home.
We open the door and see a wall or dust!
Not kidding a wall!
It was the oddest thing!
We started heading home and had the air on because it was a little humid outside
When all of a sudden the air in the car gets really thick,
We turn the corner and typically can see the traffic lights half a mile down and we couldn't even see them!
It was pretty unreal!
I have never been through any kind of fog or dust storm so I was a noOB.

A haboob is a type of intense sandstorm commonly observed in arid regions throughout the world. they have been observed in the Sahara desert as well as across the Arabian Peninsula, throughout Kuwait, and in the most arid regions of Iraq.

The haboob we had in Arizona was said to be at least 1,000 feet high! It was pretty intense!

My poor car the next morning!

So glad it wasn't a tornado or twister. Very glad we live in Arizona! Did anyone else experience the Haboob?!

You'd Think My Life Was One Big Vacation

My friends I am going somewhere again.
Right now I truly know what you are thinking.
What is this girl complaining about?
She is hardly ever at work.
{Actually I have never taken this much time off in the whole 2 and a half years I have worked here.}
But, I know if I don't go on this little trip I will regret it.
You see, my younger brother is going on a mission!
When I say younger I mean younger, not smaller as I seem to be the shortest child in my family even though I am the oldest.
So obviously this trip is not going to be as much fun as Mexico because My Mom, Dad and I will be dropping my brother off at the MTC.
If you are not familiar with the meaning of MTC head over to this link.
My brother will be a full time missionary and will be serving the people of the Dominican Republic.

My favorite missionary quote is:
Missionary: Someone who leaves their family for two year so that other can be with their families for eternity.

It is hard to believe that I wont see or talk to my brother for two whole years.
{except for letters and a call on Mothers Day and Christmas}

The hubs, my other younger brother {once again younger not smaller}and Mike's Dog will be staying home. I think they are kinda excited to just have a boys week! (:

So wish me luck because there are going to be lots of tears!
Oh and don't worry, I will post so pictures!

My Adventure in Paris

Let me start off by saying this,
These pictures of pictures of pictures, why?
Because when we were robbed my Paris memory card was in my camera!
Yeah made me MAD!!
But thankfully I got some printed!

Graduated '07.
Nana {Grandma} asked me where I wanted to go for my graduation trip.
I chose Paris of course!
So I was the lucky 18 year old girl who traveled to Paris with her Nana!
Let me just say we had so much fun!!

There was so much to do in that beautiful city!
I learned my way around pretty fast!
Tourist even thought I was a local!!
Not because I knew my way around but they said I had great fashion and walked like a model...
Boy did that boost my confidence.
I sure would like to think so!
I love Paris and want to go back so bad!
Lets take a look at some of my lovely pictures from the trip!

I don't believe I mentioned that our luggage was lost from Heathrow to Paris. Rather annoying and we had to go buy soap, tooth paste, and other things we couldn't carry on.
Also this hair do and make-up is after a 13 hour flight so I think I look alright! (:

See those band aids on my feet?!
I wasn't very smart and brought my high heeled flip flops... how dumb!
But I love the picture!

Arc de Triomphe on Ave Des Champs Elysees.

At Night the Eiffel Tower was so pretty!

He would only smile if you gave him money!

There are so many beautiful places in Paris, I'm telling you every picture I took looks like it belongs in a magazine! Love it!

Hopefully I will be able to get more pictures and download them a different way so the look real!!

Have you gone on a super fun trip outside the country?!
I wanna hear about it!

The bubble some people don't have

Some people have a huge bubble
while others have no bubble at all.
I would like to describe my self as
someone who has a little bit bigger bubble than the average joe.
Whenever my bubble gets squished like, say I am standing in line and someone comes up behind me and gets real close,
I inch forward a little while making sure I leave my foot behind me.
Sounds silly I know but I need my space!

So a  very interesting thing happened this weekend at Target.
I was pa-rousing through the clothing section when I came upon a cute dress that I wanted to look at.
As I looked up to see where my hubs went and all of a sudden I see this lady coming closer to me.
She keeps getting closer and closer till finally she is literally standing RIGHT NEXT TO ME!
I mean if I were to move an inch my hip would have touched hers!
So I keep to my business and look at the price tag on the dress.
She sees that I am looking at the price tag too and grabs it from my hands and goes
"Oh I'm sorry."
What I wanted to say was
"Uhhh yeah what are you doing chic?!"
But I said
"Oh that's okay." {in a very uncomfortable voice}
But here is the kicker...
She kept holding the tag!!!
Why did she say sorry then?!
She was still standing as close as ever and finally I gave up and said
"WOW! Your kidding right?!"
I Started laughing and walked away.
I found my hubs told him what happened and found out he was watching the whole thing.
and was confused as well.

So I just wanted to give a little shout out to the girl who has no bubble.
I have a bubble and I don't want it popped!!

Was I rude?!

Have you ever had that happen to you?!

Okay this may exaggerate my bubble maybe take just the end part off!
(:

Man's Best Friend

We all know that dogs truly are Man’s Best Friend.
Especially with all the stories on the news lately.
We have heard stories
where the family dog protects a young child as he wonders into the forest alone.
Where the family dog saves a young child from drowning.
There are so many stories about the heroic actions of family dogs.

When I was 3 years old my mom and dad bought me a toy poodle
{and boy was she cute!}

Her name was Alyssa’s Amanda Louise.
{Amanda for short}
She had many nicknames like;
Mindis-Midas,
Mandy,
Bean-Bag,
Susan,
Ducie
 and so forth.

She was truly my best friend. I would dress her in my dolly clothes and pretend she was my baby. She let me ‘man-handle’ her, I was very rough with her but she didn’t seem to mind.
I fed her cheese balls, crust from bread {that was the part I didn’t like but of course she did}.
As we both grew up we became best friends!
I have numerous pictures of her sitting in my lap, and sleeping with me in my bed.

As we all know time goes by and people grow up as do animals.
Amanda lived to be about 15 years old so I new her for 15 years of my life!!
You can imagine it was a hard day when she died.

{and it will be a day I will never forget}

Look at that ball of fur! I was 4.

My all time favorite picture of us!

Man-handling her.

 two peas in a pod!
I even covered her with part of my blanket!
{like the blue nails and my great grandmas robe?!}

Halloween, she was just a pup!

My girlie all grown up!

After Amanda passed away my awesome mom made me a book filled with pictures of us!

Isn't it hard letting someone go?!
I will always remember the good time I had with my puppy! She was my best friend and I miss her so much!

Do/did you have a dog?!

Graduation Look Back!

It’s that time of year!
Graduation time!

Do you have a special graduation song like I do?!
Maybe Graduation by Vitamin C?!

Remember when you graduated?!
I do! But for the most part I remember when everyone else's graduation ceremony.
I remember when my younger brothers graduated from Middle School and High School, when my Husband graduated from College, and When my BILs and SILs graduated too!!

The hubs!

My BIL Bradley
Very bad quality because we were far away!

My Brother
{these two graduated from the same school the same year! pretty fun!}

My youngest brother who didn't want to take this picture!

Being a graduate of something give you such a special feeling of accomplishment!  You know that you worked so hard for something and you finally got acknowled for it!

I remember getting my High School Diploma!
What a wonderful day that was!
You see I hated High School!
{with a passion!}
I had a lot of friends but I have always been mature for my age and they just weren’t on the same level as me.
I especially remember graduating from High School because I got to go on THREE vacations in one summer!

First I went with my Family to California.
Then, I went with my Nana (grandma) to PARIS!
And Last, I went with my Family to New York!!
You could say it was an awesome summer!

Do you remember when you graduated?
Did you do anything special?!
